SAF Selective Absorption Fusion | 4th Dimension Technologies

SAF technology fuses polymer powder particles together in discrete layers using an infrared-sensitive HAF (High Absorbing Fluid). It employs Big WaveTM powder control, a patented process that involves powder delivery through a bed and the use of industrial-grade Piezo-electric print heads to produce each layer of the part. After that, the areas of HAF are exposed to ultraviolet radiation, which allows them to melt and fuse together. The process is replicated before all of the pieces have been finished.
