Rapid Prototyping
Rapid Prototyping (RP) is the physical construction of a 3D model straight from a 3D CAD design, using Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology where the model is created with material adding layer by layer as opposed to subtracting material from an object.
With Rapid Prototyping, prototypes can be produced very quickly taking hours instead of weeks as by traditional methods. It also allows Form, Fit and Functional testing of new products prior to commercial release, lowers development costs, improves product quality & gets new products to market faster.
Using patented Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM™) rapid prototyping processes, Stratasys RP systems create precision three-dimensional prototyping parts directly from 3D CAD systems for use in testing form, fit and function throughout the design and development process.

Stratasys systems allow design engineers to model highly complex geometries in a wide range of high-performance engineering materials – right from their workstation or network – with in-office RP systems that require no chemical post processing, special venting or facility modification.
Models from advanced RP systems can cope with very challenging test conditions, including tensile strength, exposure to environment without alteration of their shape and can be built within tight tolerances. Multiple parts can be repeated without loss of accuracy making the system a true manufacturing centre.
